The Alfa Romeo 4C sports car enters series production
At last, Alfa Romeo has officially confirmed that the wonderful 4C sports car will enter series production.
Due to be ‘officially’ announced at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the mid-engined, rear-drive coupe has been shown as a concept car since the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Two years later the showroom-spec car arrives at last, fortunately with few major visual changes.
With it’s advanced carbon fibre chassis the 4C is set to weigh less than 1000kg – making it lighter than a small hatchback and with a fantastic 4kg/hp weight to power ratio.
Powered by a 1.7-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with direct injection, power is transmitted via an advanced twin-dry clutch transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle gear change. Alfa’s own DNA drive select switch gives 4 drive modes with Race, Dynamic, Normal and All-weather settings.
Measuring 4000mm long, 2000mm wide and 1180mm high, the 4C is shorter, wider and more squat than a Lotus Evora, Porsche Cayman or Toyota GT86.
At Page and Cooper we can’t wait for this true driver’s Alfa Romeo that at last brings Alfa back into the hands of the enthusiast and, what an entrance!
Since the unveiling of the concept car Page and Cooper and Italian partner BBR Models have had close links to the Alfa Centro Stilo design team. The design team have provided detailed drawings and specifications to enable this gorgeous recreation of the 4C in it’s dazzling show colours; the stunning matt lava red and the gorgeous metallic rosso competizione that won top honours at the 2012 Villa d’Este Concourso.
Hand Made in Italy in very limited numbers for Alfa Romeo, the models are beautifully presented with a perspex (not plastic) or wooden display case with leather bases.
We have only a few of these stunning models. Don’t miss out on this chance to own a unique momento of the rebirth of one of the most evocative names in motoring history.
