Founded in 1858 by the Ditisheim brothers, Vulcain have garnered many accolades but it was in 1947 that they created a true horological milestone with the ‘Cricket’ alarm complication. So intriguing was this invention that US Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon and Johnson all chose the Vulcain ‘Cricket’. Thus the watch acquired the name 'The Presidents Watch'.
Today Vulcain watches are still created by a small team of exemplary watchmakers in a beautiful mansion located in Le Locle, Switzerland. Vulcain watches include a number of fine Swiss movements, in-house manual and automatic calibres, and specialities.
