Marathon have been engaged in the manufacture of fine Swiss watches since 1939.  Members of the Federation de l'industrie Horlogere Suisse, all manufacture takes place at their base in Chaux de Fonds to the most exacting standards of the Swiss watchmaking industry. Each and every watch movement is produced to Marathon's own demanding standards for accuracy and performance.

The Marathon Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz is a highly accurate watch built to strict military specifications under MIL-PRF-46374G. Designed for pilots, parachutists, and law enforcement, the Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz is made to withstand the challenges that may face it in a professional or everyday environment.

First developed by Marathon Watch Company in 1986, the Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz was developed as a request by Kelley Air Force Base for a watch which could be used at high altitude, withstand extreme changes in pressure and altitude, as well as be an easy to read timepiece for a pilot. Marathon fulfilled this with the Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz. Made from a specialized fibershell case that is water resistant to 6 atmospheres (60 meters - 200 feet), sweat and shock resistant, as well as lightweight. Included with the Military Navigator Pilots Quartz is a 20 millimeter width nylon strap made underMIL-S-46383B, Type III.The Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz also uses a special Hesalite crystal which is resistant to extreme rapid changes in pressure that would be experienced by a parachutists that would normally cause a watch’s crystal to shatter or come loose from the watch.

The Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz is made in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. Powered by a Swiss made, high torque, 3 jewel ETA F06 quartz movement, the Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz guarantees you a high degree of accuracy in timekeeping. The ETA F06 movement is accurate to -0.3/+0.5 seconds per day and also includes an End of Life (EOL) indicator that will advance the seconds hand once every 4 seconds to inform you that a battery change is needed. Replacement battery is a 371 cell. The Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz uses self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations, a gas tube is placed on each hour marker, hand, and at the 12 hour marker in the bezel. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photoluminescent (glow in the dark) paint which requires an external light source to create a glow.

The Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz combines military durability with Swiss craftsmanship. The Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz is an accurate timepiece that will satisfy you for years.

Product Reviews

  • The watch is excellent. I'm into my watches and needed a beater, anything but a gshock! This is perfect, tritium works really well. It's extremely light, makes a nice change from my other posher watches, but it still has a retro aesthetic which looks really cool. The hesalite crystal, though not scratch resistant like sapphire is very easy to polish clear again if it gets scratched, but honestly I think some micro scratches will make it look even cooler. If you're undecided between this and the likes of a gshock.... I'm my opinion this is faaaaar nicer. The strap is fine, but easily swapped with a full NATO if you'd prefer. Dial is nice, very legible, very crisp. Plus it's an eta movement with a long battery life. Can't go wrong really. The staff at page and cooper were excellent, so helpful, rare to find these days. Will use again, I'm sure.

  • Light, sturdy, inexpensive. The asymmetrical design is not so pronounced as in photographs and looks great on the wrist. Perfect for outdoor pursuits. Usual great service from Josh and the team.
